Meet the Rivers....

The Big South Fork River...

BSF River

This river, located on the Kentucky-Tennessee Border, is the center piece of the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area (BSFNRRA). The forest on either side of this 70 mile stretch of river has been designated for recreational use. Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and paddlesports are the mainstay of the area. The river has carved a path through the Cumberland Plateau leaving magnificent cliff lines and house-sized boulders behind. This transformation has created many different paddling opportunities. Each section of this beautiful river has its own characteristics and is suited for different types of paddling.

The Cumberland River...

Moonbow Cumberland Falls State Resort Park located on the banks of the Cumberland River. The focal point of the Park is Cumberland Falls - a 68-foot waterfall. While spectacular in its own right, the real gem of the park requires a full moon. On clear, full moon nights, when wind and water levels are right, Cumberland Falls will create a Moonbow. This is an arc of light similar to a rainbow, but formed from the light of the moon reflecting off the water particles in the mist below the falls. The state park offers many services including a remodeled lodge, cabins, swimming pool, tennis courts, horseback riding, camping and many hiking trails.

Russell Fork

The Russell Fork River...

The Russell Fork of the Big Sandy River is located near Breaks Interstate Park on the Kentucky-Virginia border. This river is dam controlled and releases are scheduled for weekends in October. Whitewater enthusiasts come from near and far to experience this river with rapids ranging from Class II through Class V+. The fall colors, beautiful scenery, many hiking trails and great whitewater make this area perfect for a weekend get-away. Trips run on weekends in October and we meet at Breaks Interstate Park.

Laurel Lake...

Laurel Lake is located approximately 30 minutes from our main location near Cumberland Falls and 30 minutes from Corbin, KY. Breathtakingly gorgeous, it has cliff-lined shores and quiet coves. There are 2 marinas on the lake, but the lake sees mostly houseboat and fishing traffic. There is a public swimming beach next to the dam that forms the lake and numerous boat ramps. The Marsh Branch boat ramp is the closest access to the Canada Goose Management Area. This refuge is a section of lake that is restricted to non-motorized traffic only. There are several boat-in only camping areas on the lake, and the Sheltowee Trace Trail runs along its Western shore.
